Light up your path as a Rotaractor

A Pre-orientation week to introduce the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Medicine, Colombo was carried out from 17th – 21st of December 2018 at the faculty premises employing several modes to raise awareness and spread the word about the club among students and staff in order to establish it more strongly within the faculty . Posters and banners were displayed and the notice board was updated on a regular basis, with photos of the projects that were carried out. Furthermore, the President and Directors of Club Services addressed each batch and invited them to participate in the upcoming orientation program. A campaign was also carried out via Facebook and Whatsapp with the intention of cultivating an enthusiasm about the club among faculty students by enlightening them about the inspiration that the club provides to work with passion and be true leaders in future to make a difference in the world we live in. The club also hopes to improve the participation of faculty students for future projects which would be of immense benefit for them all.
Following the pre-orientation week, the new Rotaractors of Faculty of Medicine Colombo, experienced an entertaining evening at the orientation program of the Rotaract Club, which was held on 2nd of February 2019 at the Pathology Lecture Hall with the participation of 175 students representing all the batches of the faculty. President Tushani Ranawaka gave an interesting account on the club and its origin, and also about the projects that the club hopes to carry out for the betterment of the society as well as for the fellow members to improve their personalities and to reach new heights in their careers. The club members participated in several group activities which made them come up with innovative ideas to create lasting changes in our community and our environment, and had a wonderful time building up new friendships and bonds with fellow Rotaractors.
Phase 3 of the program, “Light up your path as a Rotaractor” was carried out at the Department of Physiotherapy of Faculty of Medicine, Colombo, on 5th April 2019, to introduce the club to physiotherapy students and to make them aware of the upcoming events and programs. They were given an overview of the benefits and services of the club and how to use it as an opportunity to build up their personalities as future leaders. The program was held with the participation of 30 students with the intention of strengthening the partnership between medical and physiotherapy students and to get their input and involvement to make the future projects more meaningful.
